Emergency licensed child care services are reserved exclusively for school aged children, ages 3.8 years or older, of essential service workers as identified on the UCLG List of Workers Eligible for Emergency Child Care as identified by the Government of Ontario and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and who have no other child care alternatives.
Eligible workers will be able to access emergency child care only on days that they are scheduled to work and/or require sleep time for overnight shifts.
Eligible workers who have the option to work from home, are expected to exercise this option and are not eligible for emergency child care service on these days.
Applicants are required to provide proof of employment as part of the application process to determine eligibility. Application for emergency child care services does not guarantee eligibility.
Applicants will be contacted via telephone by a Case Manager to confirm approval of their application. If approved, a copy of the eligible workers completed application form will be forwarded to the emergency licensed child care provider.
If you have any questions or require assistance while completing the form, please contact 613-342-3840, extension 2351.
